Feeding time for the baby robins

Robin Feeding relylocal wausau birdThe as the hatchlings grow and grow, the robin nesting on the front porch makes dozens of trips to the nest with worms. The babies have a voracious appetite and the father makes at least 5 trips an hour with a fresh batch of worms to feed to them. Watching them peek their heads out of the nest, I’m surprised at how fast they’ve grown since hatching last week. The second surprise I’ve received is the number of baby robins. I first though there was two eggs in the nest, but watching them today, I realize that there are four birds in the nest. Things are going to get pretty crowded in there as they grow into fledgling size.
